My son enjoyed everything about safety village. He said it was the best part of his day.

This session will be necessary for all ages not only 5-7 year olds including tobacco, alcohol, drugs etc.
It seems the program is packed full with great safety topics with little room for more. The only issue not addressed was gun safety. I know this is a very controversial topic and could probably span the entire two weeks, but maybe a small session from the police officers how they use them for their job for protection purposes and if kids see a gun (even "toys" they aren’t sure of to run to an adult). I know this issue is a "hot" one. Some parents choose to "ignore" guns, hoping they will go away. We talk about guns and what to do if one is seen. Our hope is to take the curiosity of a gun out (or lessen it) so if they ever found one or saw one they would be more likely to run away then to "check it out".

Very good experience for my daughter. I am impressed with all she learned. It helped us think about important safety issues at home.

I am really impressed with Safety Village. It is so organized and well thought out. My daughter has fears and phobias that she needs to see a psychologist for and she had some apprehension about this program but you did everything in a manner that she soon found she was learning these things in a safe environment and just loved every day and said she would like to do it again next summer. She was quite anxious the evening before going into the smoke trailer because she thought she would panic if she had to do it alone. It (the activity) was structured in a way that she came home and said it was fun and had a new air of self assurance she hadn’t had before. She is also afraid of storms, it seems like attending these two weeks has helped her be less fearful in general. Thank you so much for a great program. P.S. almost every day, I heard from my daughter and her friend how much they liked their teacher, Aaron. Thanks Aaron!

My daughter was very upset by the image of a child hurt from a bike fall. I question the age appropriateness of such an image. I understand the desired "shock value" but was it too extreme?

Great program! I already suggested a box to check on the registration form to permit the distribution of a name and address list at registration for car pool purposes.
It is impossible for 100 kids to be dropped off exactly at 8:00 a.m. Wish they could arrive 10-15 minutes early to avoid traffic jams. Also wish friends were allowed to request to be together? Mercy said it wasn’t allowed? Why? It makes it more fun to do with a friend. He loved it!! Thanks for all of your time, efforts, and hard work. I think you did a wonderful job.
Our older daughter took the safety village course five years ago and got quite a bit out of it. Our youngest has enjoyed the experience too. It seems to me that things run more smoothly now. Keep up the good work!

Our daughter enjoyed all the topics. We think the material was presented to the children in a fun, informative and positive manner. Sometimes parents aren't as effective in teaching our children and its a great opportunity to have this program available. We wish this program continued success and it can only get better. We have two more children that we will definitely enroll in Safety Village when they are old enough!
This was my first year and it was wonderful. We as adults should have learned many things about safety, keep up the good program.
Look forward to next year -- his younger brother is really excited about going next year!

Excellent program. Like the focus on child safety topics that they run into daily: playgrounds, bikes, etc. Kitchen safety could be a topic. Camping/hiking safety would be a good start of summer topic (poison ivy, bugs, etc.)
I hope my preschooler will be able to participate next year after he completes kindergarten! He was very excited to hear about each days events and activities.
