Emergency Care

Mercy's Emergency Care Unit is ready 24 hours a day to handle emergencies large and small.

The unit is staffed by physicians and RNs and is recognized as a Level III trauma unit.

For a heart attack patient, the emergency unit may be the first stop in a continuum of care. The good news is that Mercy's heart care is second to none, and it begins in the emergency unit. When patients arrive with chest pain, the staff is able to move them to the heart center for treatment faster than the national average.*

Family members are kept informed every step of the way. And if family members travel from out of town to see a loved one, they may want to stay close by in Guest Lodging.

If you would like a nurse to help you make an appointment with a Mercy doctor, call Mercy On Call at 358-2767 or 800-358-2767, or visit our physician directory.
