Lodging
Mercy Hospital
provides overnight accommodations on 3 Mercy North for those who:
- Need to
be close to ill family members who are Mercy patients.
- Are receiving
outpatient treatment at Mercy Hospital or the Iowa City Cancer
Treatment Center.
- Have a baby
in Mercy's Intensive Care Nursery.
- Come from
a distance and need to report early in the morning for a medical
or surgical procedure.
No nursing
care is provided in Guest Lodging. Emergency help is available 24
hours a day through the hospital switchboard.
Reservations
can be made by calling Volunteer Services at 319-339-3659 between
8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Rates
Mercy Guest Lodging costs $30 per room per night for one or two
people. Charges include the day of arrival, but not the day of check-out.
Long-term guests are entitled to a 10 percent discount starting
with the eighth night. Lodging must be paid in full at the time
of check-out and is not covered by medical insurance. Cash, Mastercard,
VISA, and personal checks are accepted.
Registration and Check-out
Monday
through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Please stop by the Guest Lodging
lobby on the third floor of Mercy North. If there is no one at the
desk, please call Volunteer Services, ext. 3659.
All Other
Times
Dial
the hospital operator (0) and ask to check in or out of Mercy Guest
Room. A Security officer will attend to your request.
When checking
out, please return your key(s) to the volunteer/officer on duty.
Mercy Guest
Lodging rooms include:
- 2 single
beds
- telephone
and television
- alarm clock
- private
bathroom with shower
In addition,
guests are welcome to use the vending machines, coffeemaker, microwave,
and refrigerator located in the lobby of the Mercy Guest Lodging
area.
