Mercy
Hospital Foundation announces 2008 Health Career Scholarships Recipients
Iowa City, IA
(April 29, 2008) – This year 10 students representing 8 area
high schools have been selected to receive Mercy Hospital Foundation’s
Health Career Scholarships.
The scholarships
provide each student $1,000 a year, renewable for up to four years.
The students plan to enter nursing, pharmacy and physical therapy
programs.
The 2008 recipients
and their high schools are:
Kelly Bream, Clear Creek Amana H.S.
Yenna Chin, Iowa City West H.S.
Jenny Freel, Washington H.S.
Kurtis Hall, Highland H.S.
Amanda Hanson, Highland H.S.
Sarah Maynard, Iowa City H.S.
Patrick Porter, Regina H.S.
Diana Rice, Lone Tree H.S.
Samantha Troyer, Mid Prairie H.S.
Hannah Vander Schel, Iowa City H.S.
This is the
sixth year Health Career Scholarships have been awarded by Mercy
Hospital Foundation. The primary funding sources of the 2008 scholarships
are Mercy employees, Mercy Hospital Guild and a US Bank grant.
